“A house without books is like a room without windows.”
Hello, and welcome!
I’m Ally, I’m from a small seaside town called Scarborough. But we move around a lot, I’m currently living in
Plymouth, Hull, Huddersfield!
I started Swept Away Again in 2010 as a place to record and share my good and sometimes, not so good thoughts on books and reviews on long novels and short stories.
After studying literature all the way through School and University I eventually fell out of love with reading. Then one day back in 2008 while browsing the book section in the supermarket I saw Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Night Embrace (from her Dark Hunter’s series) and Nora Roberts Morrigan’s Cross (from her Circle trilogy) and fell back in love with reading and with the romance genre.
Since then I’ve read over a 1000 books but I enjoy most books with a happily ever after (HEA).
I live with my with best friend who is also my husband, we’ve been together for 11 years and we also live with a mischievous bunny called Evie.
You will most normally find me curled up somewhere with a book & a cup of peppermint tea or watching some kind of action film or TV show.
The name Swept Away Again is from an old conversation I had with my Dad about getting swept away with a book. Getting lost in a book is escapism at its finest and that’s exactly what I thrive on.
I love to connect with fellow readers (and with wonderful authors) so find me on Twitter, Goodreads or email me.
Stick around and enjoy reading all of my posts and reviews!
